Of Native American extraction, Teyah’s

patchwork colors define her Seminole roots.

Wearing patchwork is a statement of Seminole

pride; the shapes, cuts and silhouettes reflect

the different clans of tribal members. This

ancient race of Native Americans who pre-date

western religion, crossed the then connected

northern landmass to settle North America;

only eventually to suffer persecution and

“ethnic cleansing”. But they persevered and

adapted, retaining their rich culture and simple,

honest, and non-pretentious life-style.

Tayah’s name reveals her royal background.

The sight of her brings joy to her people and

respect from others. She represents the proud

heritage of the Seminole people.
